Art Statement of Intent

It is our intent that our art and design education engages, inspires and challenges our pupils. Children will have the opportunity to practise a wide range of art and design techniques with a range of materials. Our pupils will obtain the knowledge and skills needed to experiment with their own works of art which expresses their interests, thoughts and feelings. By encouraging pupils to individualise their sketchbooks, we hope that they will continually review and reflect on their work while developing their critical thinking. Through examining artists, designers and architects in KS1 and KS2, pupils will be aware of how art and design contributes to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
